Everything You Need to Know About the New Starbucks Happy Hour

Everything You Need to Know About the New Starbucks Happy Hour

Anyone with Instagram knows spring hasn't sprung until Starbucks rolls out a new pastel-colored drink. But the coffee chain's latest promotion isn't about just one beverage — its new and improved happy hour offers deals on espresso, iced tea, Frappuccino and more.

The new happy hour kicks off Thursday, March 29, with 50% off any espresso drink from 3 p.m. to close. Different promotions will continue to roll out to customers throughout the year. That's right — instead of the usual week-long Frappuccino-only happy hour, the time to strike on this deal is … well, all the time.

Before you grab all your office besties for a Starbucks run, here's the thing: You have to be invited to get the discount. Once you're in, you'll be notified of new events and promotions as soon as they're announced, but there's no word yet how often that will happen and what new offers to expect.

Here's how to join in:

1. Become a rewards member. Once you register to become part of the Starbucks Rewards program, happy hour offers will automatically load to your account. If you're already a member, lucky you — your invite code should be waiting for you in your email inbox or notification center. You'll show your barista the ring code when you're placing your order.

2. Sign up for an invite. If don't want to sign up for the loyalty program, you can register your email on the Starbucks Happy Hour page and get discount codes delivered to your inbox.

3. Visit your nearby Starbucks and log onto the Wi-Fi. Starting next week, you'll be prompted to enter your email to access in-store Wi-Fi. By logging on, Starbucks will start sending you updates on new happy hour deals, and you'll be able to connect your device to the Wi-Fi seamlessly every visit thereafter.

Promo codes are for one-time use until the next deal comes out, so you may want to check back on your app or email (or Insta) for new offerings.
