How to Be a Good Airbnb Host
Consider these top tips for becoming a star host.
Give a warm welcome. Even if you’re not physically present to greet your guests, make sure your place is accommodating from the start. Small touches can make a big impression. “I make it a point to have their towels and washcloths out, and I always have beer, wine and Champagne in my kitchen,” says Airbnb Superhost Ed Devlin.
Connect with guests. Devlin goes above and beyond to entertain visitors who want to interact. “I’ve taken guests skydiving, surfing, hiking, skiing and wine tasting. I’ve taken them on boats, to football and baseball games, and to concerts,” he says. Doing so, especially with visitors from out of the country, has allowed him to learn about new cultures, as well.
Build your brand. Getting good reviews from visitors is the best way to increase future bookings. Don’t forget to pay attention to your guests’ ratings before you confirm a stay to ensure a smooth interaction.
