Ah, February—love is in the air. Valentine’s Day is a time for exchanging gifts with your sweetheart, setting up Pinterest-worthy romantic dates and, for some, even popping the question. In fact, the Association of Bridal Consultants sees so many engagements and bridal shows take place during February that they’ve designated it National Wedding Month.
If you’re one of those recently engaged women, don’t worry! To get advice for planning your wedding, we’ve turned to Alexis Wolfer, the founder and editor-in-chief of TheBeautyBean.com, who just released her new book “Radiant Bride: The Beauty, Diet, Fitness, and Fashion Plan for Your Big Day.”
Inspiration for Wolfer’s new book was sparked by the volume of reader-submitted questions that started with the phrase, “I’m getting married, and ... ”
“I think for most women, it’s their all-eyes-on-me moment to shine, and they want to look and feel their best,” Wolfer says. “I initially thought that there had to be a book I could recommend to readers with questions, but when I realized that all the bridal books on the market were more focused on party planning than on the bride, I knew I wanted to write it myself.”
We caught up with the self-starter to discover the money and career lessons she’s learned as an entrepreneur, her secrets for living a healthy lifestyle on a budget, and the kind of wedding spending and saving you’ll be most glad you did.
