LV’s Podcast Pick of the Month: Real Estate Today

In our new series, “LV’s Podcast Pick of the Month,” we’re highlighting an audio program that we’re crushing on.

Our criteria: It needs to be smart, sharp and help make some aspect of your money life easier.

This month’s featured listen focuses on the dream of home ownership.

In case you haven’t noticed, America is podcast obsessed.

Just look at the millions of fanatical “Serial” fans out there who couldn’t wait to tune in last fall to follow the real-life mystery of a Baltimore girl who disappeared in 1999—and the man who was convicted of killing her.

Not a true crime junkie yourself?

That’s O.K. There are plenty of podcasts for the picking—and listening.

In fact, we’ve scavenged a great one just in time for fall house-hunting season: “Real Estate Today,” hosted by Gil Gross in conjunction with the National Association of Realtors.

True, it’s not as dramatic and chilling as “Serial,” but it is devoted to revealing secrets and solving mysteries—even if they are just of the real estate kind.

So if you’re in the market for tips on buying your dream home—and keeping it in good shape once you have it—this podcast is worth a spin.

The Gist: This weekly series has been going strong since 2009, covering everything from improving curb appeal to advice on how to make an offer on new digs.

Gross, an award-winning radio journalist, shares recent real estate news, discusses market trends, interviews experts and answers burning home-buying questions.

How to Listen: You can tune in on the Real Estate Today site, iTunes and local radio stations (check here for listings). Each episode is 75 minutes long.
