10 Things to Do With 10 Bucks: Garden Finds

Whether you’ve gotten a tax refund, forgone shampoo, or saved with coupons—or, just because you’re a gender-gap-busting woman—you’re due for a $10 treat this month.

With April showers hopefully behind us, leaving blooming tulips, lilacs and cherry blossoms in their wake, we’re eager to start appreciating Mother Nature again.

Gardens—and by this we include everything from expansive backyard landscapes to countertop herb planters in your apartment—offer health benefits ranging from fresh air to a constant supply of fresh, inexpensive produce and herbs.

This month’s “10 Things To Do With $10” series focuses on ways to channel your green thumb, from ethereal hanging globe planters to a floppy hat to a $9 way to light up your garden at night.

Are these made of galvanized steel? I once read a warning label from similar items in a Pottery Barn store that certain materials in galvanized steel items can cause cancer, and should not be used to serve food or drinks. Just wanted to share that info.

What about hitting the dollar store? Pots, soil, and seeds. $10 would go a long ways.
