Wouldn’t it be great if someone could prove that those smug iPhone users spend more money than the rest of us? We LearnVesters could gloat over our half-page-long phone bills and have buttons made that read “My Phone Money Went To My IRA.” Sounds like paradise, right?
Well, you’re living it! The ever-vigilant Gizmodo found data, taken from 275,000 Pageonce users, that breaks down monthly credit card expenditure by type of smartphone the users own. See it for yourself:
And there’s more...average monthly phone bills, with a surprise leader.
But wait… just because iPhone users spend more money doesn’t mean that they’re spending it on their phones. Gizmodo points out that iPhone users might be a big-spending, self-selecting group. Or maybe the data is skewed by some seriously big (and small) spenders. If the lowest monthly bill out of the four is the iPhone, then the credit cards associated with the iPhone users couldn’t simply be covering their bills...which, come to think of it, is pretty obvious. But no matter who gets to feels superior when it comes to smartphones and their bloated bills, the charts are still pretty cool. Maybe we’ll print them on our buttons.
Tell us in the comments: Do you have a smartphone? Why or why not?
