Google is revolutionizing the way we manage email communication yet again, with its new feature, Priority Inbox. If you’re already an avid Gmail user like we are, you’ll soon see a link to Priority Inbox on the menu sidebar, just above the inbox link. If you haven’t yet made the switch to Gmail, this helpful new feature may finally convince you.
Spend More Time Doing Things You Love
Priority Inbox is essentially a tool for categorization. As new emails come in, you can identify them by their importance, and then sit back and relax while Google does the work of sorting through future incoming messages for you. Unread priority emails float to the top of your inbox, saving time and making sure your most important emails don’t slip through the cracks. Internal testing of the feature resulted in users spending 16% less time reading unimportant emails—and that goes a long way toward reducing the price of procrastination.
Let Google Do Your Housekeeping
We’ve always appreciated Gmail’s option to star important emails, but truth be told, we forget to revisit them more often than we should. With the new Priority Inbox layout, starred emails appear below the unread priority emails and above everything else. Categories can be collapsed for easier viewing, but the structure certainly helps. It’s almost like having our very own personal assistant sorting through our inbox for us.
Carry Over The Convenience To Your Finances
If you’ve started managing and organizing your finances online, Priority Inbox will further simplify the process. Make sure to mark your monthly statements as important so that they always arrive at the top of your inbox. Paying your bills will be that much easier!
