Google is making the world prettier, one homepage at a time. At no cost, the search engine now allows each user to customize the background image on the Google page, choosing from a gallery of supplied photos or one from her personal collection.
It turns out that to change your background, you need a Google account. For the Gmail addicts here at LearnVest, this isn’t an issue, but those of you without accounts will have to either open one or stick with the company-chosen interface.
The best thing about this, though, is that every bit of it is free. It’s free to open a Google account, free to upload a picture of Fido, and free to smile every time you Google “Sale at DSW.”
To make your world a little shinier, follow the link that reads “Change background image” in the bottom left-hand corner of the Google homepage.
