You don't have to be Lady Gaga to pull off a crazy spectacle. Your eyes are important (you only get one pair!), so we want you to take good care of them, whether that means protecting them from the sun or getting a good prescription. Here are the top 10 summer looks for glasses, all under $50.
We bring you our favorite summer picks for stylish, celeb-worthy glasses:
Sunglasses: Jessica Biel. $18.
Jessica Biel has been spotted multiple times in a red pair of Marc Jacobs aviators (normally $110). To nab the look, go with these metal aviators from Urban Outfitters, which also come in red.
Sunglasses: Diane Kruger. $25.
The starlet from Inglourious Basterds has been seen rocking cool Ray Bans. Skip out on the almost-$150 price tag by getting a great $25 version from A.J. Morgan instead.
Sunglasses: Leighton Meester. $11.
Leighton Meester was spotted here wearing a great pair of Chloe sunglasses, usually $225. We decided to save a whole $214 by opting for this $11 version from Sunglass Warehouse.
Sunglasses: Prada- or D&G-Style Butterfly Glasses. $14.
A lot of celebs have been sporting butterfly sunglasses, from Kim Kardashian to Lady Gaga herself. Rather than paying nearly $250, we’re happy to pay $14 for these butterfly glasses of our own.
Sunglasses: Katherine Heigl. $45.
Katherine Heigl rocks these glasses from Jee Vice, a trendy French brand. They're normally about $250, but an alternative is this $45 pair from Fossil.
Eyeglasses: Chloe Sevigny. $10.
For a look like Chloe Sevigny's for your reading glasses, try these Paramount Readers from Urban Outfitters.
Eyeglasses: Debra Messing. $37 to $80.
We're huge fans of Altair brand eyeglasses, sported by the likes of Debra Messing. Luckily, we found them inexpensively on FramesDirect: Our favorite pair costs $80, but there's one pair on sale for as little as $37.
Two more words of wisdom:
For The Actual Name Brands, Shop At A Discount.
We are always keeping our eyes open for brands with designer looks, and one of our favorite sites for doing so is FramesDirect.com, where we found sales on Burberry, Gucci, Kate Spade, and other labels.
Bonus For New Yorkers.
If you happen to live in New York City, take a look at Time Out New York's best independent eyewear shops.
Remember, if you’re planning on using a prescription for any of these glasses, look into whether your health spending account or flexible spending account will cover the costs. One piece of advice: You might want to stay away from those Lady Gaga cigarette glasses.
