We love designer fashion. And, we love sales. So, it should be no surprise that we freak out just a little bit when those two loves collide.
You’ve probably heard the news: Zac Posen, our fave “it” haute couture designer, has created a line of clothing for Target, making his creations (beloved by starlets like Natalie Portman and Beyonce) accessible for a small fraction of his high-design prices.
And he’s not the only one.
Across the board, designers like Nicole Miller, I Heart Ronson, and Alice + Olivia have created “diffusion” collections, more readily available to the masses. Here are our favorites:
I Heart Ronson At JCPenny.
The designer and sister of Sam Ronson (of the Lindsay Lohan off-again, on-again, and off-again saga), Charlotte Ronson has designed a collection that’s comfortable at Fashion Week and on the discount racks. Our favorite pick? This $21 floral miniskirt. Clearly, we’re pretty pumped that spring is here.
Hawks By Geren Ford.
Urban Outfitters has jumped on the bandwagon, too, by partnering with various independent designers. Check out this awesome, designer party dress, for $50.
Vera Wang For Kohl’s.
You can buy a Vera Wang dress for $54–no joke! We’re also really digging this pleated top, for $28.
Designer Shoes At Payless.
Designers Christian Siriano, Alice + Olivia, and Lela Rose all have designed shoes for Payless. Christian Siriano has been known to sell gowns for over $1,600, but his shoes sell for as little as $35 at Payless. Similarly, Alice + Olivia dresses regularly cost close to $500, but shoes from the same designer sell for only $25.
Fabulous Dresses By Norma Kamali.
It’s hard to deny that Norma Kamali’s line at Walmart is anything but beautiful. Look at this great sleeveless jersey dress and tie-waist striped dress, just $18 each!
Nicole Miller At JCPenney.
JCPenny sells an elegant line of clothes from Nicole Miller, including this beautiful tube dress ($35). Pair it with adorable shoes designed by her, too, like these sandals or this strappy affair, each for $35.
M By Marc Bouwer.
We were pleasantly surprised to find that the QVC actually has some really cool stuff! This line of clothes by Marc Bouwer (who’s famous for designing bold, flowing gowns) is actually really cute. We found this great shrug embellished with floral patterns, which we’ve been wearing to work so often that our coworkers are starting to ask questions.
The hot-to-trot Zac Posen collection will become widely available at Target starting on April 25th. Unfortunately, Target hasn’t released any official pictures of the collection, but our insiders tell us that these are some highlights to lookout for…
We’re digging a super cute black gold halter swimsuit featured in the collection ($40). We also can’t wait to check out an amazing red gown ($70) and a short, floral brocade dress with a big bow ($75). That said, Zac Posen is also offering beautiful dresses for even less money. The collection includes a cute, flirty polka-dot dress for only $40. You can check out Target’s teaser for the collection on their site.
