hi! love the idea of LV Moms - looking forward to benefiting from the insights. i'm a single mom to a 6 year old, and newly divorced. i would love to see content around rebuilding your financial security after a divorce. my ex is controlling and the polar opposite of collaborative - as a result, we had a long (3 yr) and expensive (i had to spend $300k). i read early on, that every woman is just one divorce away from financial devastation. unfortunately, that is my current reality. i am so excited about my freedom and this new phase of my life, just terrified how i will be able to manage with so much debt and so little income. thank you!
Perhaps this has already been done, but I would love to see a comparison between your money management tools and some of the more established brands like Quicken and Mint.com. I am a diehard Quicken user, but am thinking of moving towards an online tool. I know Mint.com has an app that lets you check your account info/spending on the go and I'm wondering if anything like that is in the works for LV. Thanks!
I could always use more tips for controlling impulse buying! I find that's my biggest problem - especially with all the sales notices, emails, websites, advertisements, etc. I have a hard time passing up on sales and I love when LearnVest emails discuss what's really worth it and what the "sale" really "costs" the buyer. I have a problem of shiny things tending to get added to purchases (a pretty necklace, fun vase, etc).
How about one for technical issues? I know there have been some glitches for the latest updates, but it would be nice to have a place to go to see if other have had the same issues and find if there are workarounds.
I know the site is designed more for young professional women, but what about the students who are close to graduation but aren't quite in the professional/paying back loans world? I would like to see a category for students where we can discuss our career and financial goals, network, and get advice for things like internships, resume building, and preparation for our futures.
Smaley116 and Learnvest: I highly recommend looking at askamanager.org. She's got a great Q&A format and years of archives on applying for jobs, resume and cover letter tips, and all kinds of workplace questions.
