I have an orchard bank card; and receive 2% back on all purchases; also the card interest rate is lower or similar to other cards that don’t offer any perks.
At 24, I know I'm sort of late to the credit card game, but I recently got and have begun using the American Express Blue Cash Everyday card - 3% cash back on groceries (I'm addicted to cooking, so that's ideal), 2% back on gas (I don't have a car, but I can feel better about filling up my mom's tank when I visit...), and 1% back on everything else. To keep a strong credit score, I still need to watch my spending on the card to make sure that it's within 30% of my credit limit, so I use my debit card for random things here and there.
I like the idea of getting cash rather than miles because I have more control on how the rewards get spent. American Express also has great purchase protection plans, which is another big reason I chose this card.
I have a B of A card & a Chase card honestly their both pretty good. I prefer BofA bc of their Worldpoints program.
But my favorite cc is my Victoria Secret Card! Of course the APR is high but it's a retail store so it's expected but if you use it correctly you know to only purchase what you would can pay in cash/debit for and pay it off in full each month so it really doesn't matter! But seriously the perks you get with the use of this card is AMAZING! Aside from all the FREE panty offers, I only really shop there during their semi annual saes but when I do I STOCK UP! And it's majority items for my friends! Pjs, panties, bath & body products... Think about it what gal doesnt love it all! Ive created a signature for myself in gift giving by always adding a lip gloss or a pair of panties to every gift... Little do they know they were probably free! My friends now expect it & even put in request! I've also encouraged the card to 3 of my friends also instructed them how to use it & I'm happy to say all 3 have saw increases in their credit scores!!!
I second what @Prettyballa35 said! I've got two store cards - one for Express and one for Victoria's Secret and if you use them properly and responsibly the rewards really pay off. I should point out though that I primarly shop at those stores. Guaranteed half of what I have in my closet ended up being either free, or less than I would end up paying for a similar item at any other store - including Target!
Currently though, my "best" card is my card through Capital One. I have 0% APR on both purchases and balance transfers through June of next year - this allowed me to transfer the balances on all my other cards that had higher interest rates. Most cards with introductory offers like that end there, but this card also has 50% cash back at the end of the year.
One of my friends got a credit card through Disney that she used to charge her graduate school tuition on (which she promptly paid off by the end of each semester). With all the points that ended up accumulating, she took herself to Disney for her graduation present to herself totally for free!
