Apps to help momsBeing an efficient, money-saving mom.

There’s an app for that. Or fifty!

Until we really dug in, we had no idea how many mind-blowing (and free!) apps there were out there to help you organize your life, use up your leftovers, sync your to-do list with your spouse's and more.

After trying out the most popular apps for ourselves, we came up with a list of our ten favorites. Install these babies on your phone and you’ll never pay full price, get caught without your rewards card or scrounge around the kitchen for food again. Pepperplate is an awesome FREE app that does the same as Big Oven, except that it doesn’t have it’s own database of recipes.  You build your own recipe database by “adding” any recipe you find anywhere on the web (much the same way as pinning something to Pinterest), or add one manually (either through the app or their website.)  It is amazing at menu planning, from adding recipes to the calendar (plan Breakfast, Lunch & Supper), to actually building an entire menu for a special event.
It’s shopping list is the best feature.  You can add a recipe, or item from your menu planner, to the shopping list, it will automatically sort them into each category (which you can personalize).  You can also sort the categories according to your own way of going through your grocery store!  Makes for a quick in and out!  I just can’t live with out my Pepperplate! The app is free on at least both Android and Nook Tablet.  I don’t know about Apple products (I don’t own any…gasp!)
