10 Things You Don’t Know About My Finances: Maria Lin, Editor In Chief

MariaDo you ever wonder who is behind LearnVest's content?

Who is this person who delights in writing about awkward money situations, or who loves nothing more than spending an afternoon reading psychological studies on how to beat stress? We're pulling back the curtain so you can put a face to the name.

Meet our editor in chief, Maria Lin. She's sassy, she's stylish and she's very, very smart. Think of her as an Anna Wintour—with a sense of humor and a sweet tooth for oatmeal cookies.

For the first edition of our new series "10 Things You Don't Know About My Finances," we followed Maria around, snapped a few shots and got inside her head.

Read on to find out what financial accomplishment she's most proud of, the most awkward money situation she's ever been in and what she thinks is the most valuable thing of all.

Thanks for showing us a glimpse into your life!  A lot of your philosophies align with my own, especially trying to live a more simple life.  (More stuff does not equal more happiness!)  Also, I love the quote you shared!  I may do something similar to remind myself money’s rightful place; it’s easy to let financial matters overwhelm us sometimes.

I loved this. She seems like a really great woman. I have been trying to pare down my wardrobe, too, to focus on higher-quality pieces, instead of high-quantity pieces. The only problem is, I get bored of wearing the same clothes day in and day out. I think I need to learn how to accessorize better!

Where is the HOW part of this article? I really am interested in learning how to live on less per day but I can’t find that part on the site (the email header said “how to live on $10/day”). Thanks!
