Get this person’s phone number on autodial in your cell phone. Relay your goals to this person so that he or she can help remind you of them when your judgment gets cloudy while gazing at those $400 boots.

    Can the money buddy be someone with a different income level? Who would be the best choice?

    Ultimately it’s more important that you both share the same values when it comes to money. Admittedly it may be hard to see eye to eye on some things if your friend is loaded and you’re living paycheck to paycheck (or vice versa). But I don’t think income level has to be a money buddy deal breaker.
