Author and feminist icon Gloria Steinem has been in the news lately, from her condemnation of Sarah Palin’s take on feminism to her appearance on Comedy Central’s ‘The Colbert Report.’
Steinem is known for saying that “a woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle,” and when it comes to personal finances, we have to agree. Especially today, with divorce rates at an all-time high, women need to have knowledge and control of their finances from college through retirement.
What we need to take from Steinem’s message is that it’s never too late—or too early—to learn about and seize control of your finances.
